Lyssa has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology with an expertise in adolescent trauma. A lifelong New Yorker, she lives on Long Island with her partner, their two young children, and her rambunctious dog, Nessie. Her debut novel, Revelle, was named the Teen Book of the Month for March 2023 by Chapters Indigo as well as one of the best books of 2023. Revelle was also featured in four book subscription boxes and is being translated into six additional languages for readers around the world. It was a finalist for the 2023 CYBILS award in Young Adult Speculative Fiction, which honors books that combine high literary merit with high popular appeal.

Combining her interests in writing and mental health, Lyssa cohosts Turning To Story, a craft-focused podcast and blog aimed at helping writers at all levels keep the joy in their writing by focusing on their craft.

 

Lyssa is currently wrapping up her sophomore YA romantic fantasy, which is also being published by Harper Teen, an imprint of HarperCollins.
